My Life With Dementia – Season 2, presented by Marianne Jones – Dementia UK

I’m really happy to say that after a really well received launch of their new podcast ‘My Life With Dementia’ last year, Dementia UK asked me back to produce a second season. We’re sharing six more stories from people living with or caring for with someone with dementia.

You can listen to all the episodes on your podcast app of choice, or on the Dementia UK website: https://www.dementiauk.org/information-and-support/resources/podcast/

For this show, I am the series producer, sound designer and mix engineer. So I work with the Dementia UK team to deliver all aspects of the series. Just like last time, it was really wonderful getting to meet all the contributors to this series. I feel very proud of what we’ve made, and I hope that lots of people will listen to these stories and gain something from them.

Each episode of the podcast includes a section where we hear from two Admiral Nurses (Dementia UK’s specialist dementia nurses) offering specific advice relating to the themes of the story we’ve just heard. This time around, we experimented with separating these out into their own episodes. This allowed us to go a bit more in depth with the nurses, and was really just a chance to see what works best for listeners.

We also had a new presenter this season! The journalist Marianne Jones, who was really brilliant to work with. Marianne and her sister were carers to their mum when she had dementia. And Marianne was really generous in bringing some of her own personal experiences into the podcast episodes.
